Launched as the estate’s newest offering for 2026, the Glass Orangery is the first of its kind in Scotland, a contemporary sanctuary of glass, greenery and sky, nestled within the romantic Sunken Garden of Penicuik House. Flooded with natural light and surrounded by landscaped gardens with views towards the Pentland Hills, the new venue is designed to host elegant ceremonies, stylish wedding breakfasts and unforgettable celebrations throughout the year.
Accommodating up to 150 guests for dinner and dancing, or 200 for dinner receptions, the Orangery brings a fresh new dimension to weddings at Penicuik House, combining contemporary architectural design with the heritage of one of Scotland’s most sought after exclusive use estates.
Beyond the celebrations, guests can enjoy exclusive use of Penicuik House’s 16 en suite bedrooms, atmospheric reception spaces, formal dining rooms, wood panelled bar and library, alongside the estate’s Italian courtyard, terraces and beautifully designed landscape.
For larger celebrations, weddings can extend across the wider Penicuik Estate, including the High Pond Reserve, a secluded waterside setting immersed in ancient woodland, ideal for gatherings of up to 250 guests.
Guests can also enhance their stay with a programme of bespoke experiences, ranging from fire feasts and whisky tastings to foraging walks, breathwork sessions, wild swimming and spa treatments at nearby Eskfield Spa House, creating a memorable multi day celebration or countryside escape.
